Gregory Floyd's autobiographical journey through grief after the tragic death of his youngest son recounts the full impact of such a loss on a Christian family. In this thoroughly updated and expanded edition, Floyd more than ever before allows the reader into his heart as he grapples with the interior emotions that question the goodness of God in the midst of unbearable grief. With honesty and candor, this loving father openly reveals the depths of his pain as he struggles to maintain his faith and provide leadership for the rest of his family. He reflect on what it is like to live with the grief fifteen years on, as he watches his other children mature, get married, and begin lives fully on their own.
"An extraordinary account…at once emotionally devastating, at times spiritually exhilarating, and most of the time both at once." -- First Things
"This is no ordinary book about grief. Gregory Floyd writes from the depth of a father's heart with sensitivity and spiritual reality." --Thomas J. Monaghan Founder of Domino's Pizza
Ultimately a story of profound hope and healing, A Grief Unveiled offers encouragement and empathy not only to those who have experienced the agony of parental bereavement, but to anyone who has suffered a loss.
Grief Unveiled Fifteen Years Later eBook Gregory Floyd
Mr. Floyd writes a personal narrative of the death of his young son, John Mark. This book was loaned to me immediately after the death of our 21 year old daughter and ministered to me in the early days of raw grief. I just purchased this copy which includes a few new chapters at the end of the original book which speaks of his and his family's lives 15 years later. He's a gifted writer, and although I'm Protestant and he's Roman Catholic, I drew much comfort from his book. Highly recommended!Product details

Grief Unveiled Fifteen Years Later eBook Gregory Floyd Reviews
As good as I had hoped for and maybe even better. This is my style of book. Thank you again.
Practical and insightful.
Our son died in an accident 7 years ago on Easter Sunday. This book says it all, all that we have gone through. It was consoling to know that we are not the only ones who have had these feelings all these years. Without God who can survive this?
This book does not try to sugar coat or explain away the painful reality that is grief. The author(s) speak from within the pain from a place where God dwells with them in it. It is one of the best books on grief I have read and it was especially significant for me to read it during the Lenten season.
I wrote a review of this excellent book on my blog. I invite you to check it out when you get a chance. http//johndobbs.com/2013/06/08/review-a-grief-unveiled-fifteen-years-later/
In full disclosure I must say that I am a personal friend of the author, Gregory Floyd. Nonetheless, I honestly believe the addendum to the original version of his book is excellent. It shows the enduring effect of family love and faith in shaping the lives of John Paul's parents and siblings in the many years since his passing.
I absolutely love this heartfelt honest book. This one resonated with me more than others that I read at the time of my loss and I like to give it to others in similar situations
